Back to Basics is the Colorado Municipal League President’s Initiative for 2025. In a time when the role of local government has never felt more complicated, Back to Basics invites us to focus on the fundamentals. Together, we can strengthen our commitment to ethical government, ensure municipal operations remain clear and accessible, and build communities that reflect our shared values.

Legislation crafted by the Colorado General Assembly in 2025 will have a direct impact on local governments across the state. From criminal justice to taxation, and economic development to transportation, the Colorado Municipal League will work on behalf of cities and towns to ensure their voices are heard at the state Capitol.
